Yes I saw that one too H and took me back. It`s still there though precious little else is as the whole front was boarded up last time I went  :(

That doesn't surprise me Paul, it never was that vibrant. The Spanner closed years ago, but was a dive long before that. Still I suppose St Mary's island is still reasonably photogenic. Hours of fun were had canoeing around that part of the bay, and playing chicken with the incoming tide on the causeway.

The theory seems to be that as long as a man is a failure he is one of God's children, but that as soon as he succeeds he is taken over by the Devil. H.L Mencken.

We might well have been there at the same time once without knowing it! Mind you I always liked Cullercoats and Tynemouth best.

Love those shots. I have one set of little men and often look to get some more for fun shots but they are so expensive!

Great article and even greater pictures - it does make you smile
1 body, 1 lens, 1 flash gun, 1 tripod, 1 cable release & 1 filter. Keeping it simple!
(I lied, just got a second lens!)

Having a Saturday night off and being able to spend some time on this site.

"More severe weather is expected to hit flood-stricken parts of the UK later, as the prime minister continues a tour of the worst-affected areas."

Well that's alright then, what are we worrying about, Bullingdon Dave to the rescue.  ::)

That weather over there!  It needs to dry up.   Here it is currently -13C.

Right now also, ahem, a certain country, who has the same Queen, is at the top of the medal count at the Olympics

Yes, but wait. We haven't had the Olympic sweeping up on ice yet...or the Olympic defrosting the fridge!

Speaking of fridges, did you see the one we have?  We have a beer fridge (yeah, I know, cold beer) that only opens if you scan a Canadian passport

With all that water around, do they need any more drips?

Put together book for my younger daughter's 50th, which I received today from Blurb. Extremely pleased with the quality and photo reproduction.

It took a while to assemble the pictures and scan them and then get some chronological sequence into the layout and copy.

I've never taken family shots and so sourcing snaps (surreptitiously) from other family members, school photographs and friends etc. became a bit of a chore, but it seems to have turned out OK. Well the missus seems to think so, lots of ahhhs, smiles and reminiscences.
