Ok, this isn't a Minolta/Sony lens, but the one I'm looking at is for A mount cameras. My question is does any one here own this lens? I've tried to find reviews with no luck. Even went to Tokina and cant find any reference to it.

try www.dyxum.com - extensive a-mount review base. If it's out there, it's in their database!

Good site. Unfortunately nothing about this lens. I'm able to find the lens listed on a couple of sites for sale new but I guess it hasn't made it's mark in photo circles. I'm still going to have a look at it and see how it works on my camera.

Ah, my bad - they've the 80-400mm there, and rated quite highly too! Tokina currently don't support the a-mount, so the lens may be a little on the old side. may be worth posting at dyxum as I'm sure someone will have used this lens!

I met up with the seller today, played around with the lens for about half an hour while he talked photography.
It worked as promised so I bought it. I hope to get out with it some more tomorrow.
