Nice try Ogga. The members are very lethargic when it comes to voting, and especially after Christmas, I would think.

Fingers crossed they'll come to, and remember in time.

As Jen so aptly said: This one's mine!

Congratulations Jen; you and H have the highest number of votes, but as you were 'first poster' you win.

Thank you everyone, and for those who voted for my pic. (I really loved Chris's reflection image, great colors, great idea and super sharp).

Now I need a little clarification, as the current comp goes for 2 weeks, does my challenge go up this week or next?
I'm thinking that it will be posted on the weekend of 4th & 5th Jan
Pictures to be taken between 00.01am Monday 6th Jan and Sunday 12th January 2014.

And it does mean I have to go back and find the instructions for setting up the poll etc. I guess there is always a first time for everything and I will work it out.

Hinfrance

Congratulations Jen. Thanks for the votes all. Ogga got my vote this week with his seasonal ensemble.

As for the next challenge, I think it would be a good idea to wait until next week to put it up. Any other thoughts?

I go with the flow, as far as the date for the competition is concerned.

Jen, setting the competition is easy; just a matter of copying and pasting the previous chat/entry threads and changing the relevant dates, and the title.

Official instructions on how to set up the poll are hidden on the site somewhere, and Howard posted a very clear list of 'how he did it' earlier in the year.

I'll copy the instructions below to save you time. If you print them off and keep them safe, you're 'set up' for a life of easy poll setting!

Good luck.

One thing: I find it easier to copy and paste the titles in the boxes first and later paste in the picture codes. But that's a personal thing of course.

1. Go to forum/international weekly comp entries and click 'new poll' (on the right hand side)
2. Enter the title and then the question 'please vote for your favourite . . '
3. Now open another browser window and tile them side by side, so you can see both
4. In the new window open weekend competition album
5. Click on the image that you are adding to the poll and select and copy the bottom BB code (BB Code full size)
5a. If the image is not in the weekly competition album, go the site home page and click on the image in the gallery previews below the Image Of The Week to see the BB code
6. Type in the image title followed by (br), in square not curved brackets; then paste the BB code followed by two more (br)s (square brackets again - this just puts a couple of blank lines in so the pictures are not all stacked up on top of each other)
7. Repeat 5. and 6. until you have all the images for the poll listed
8. Mark 'run the poll for' as 4 days
9. Click the radar button to show results after someone has voted
10. Repeat the poll question 'please vote for your favourite . . ' in the thread text box
11. Click 'post' and hope for the best

It looks rather daunting when you read it, but once you sit down and actually do it, everything falls into place, and it becomes very easy.

Well done Jen. Got my vote. Wasn`t sure at first as I wondered whether the focal point should have been on the decoration rather than the cat as the theme - but I am a sucker for cats and whilst I loved the narrative behind H`s image the picture could not tell the story in itself  so went for yours from my favourite 2.

After editing my initial confused state I say go as you planned.

You put up your subject for the competition to run from January 6th to 12th 2014.

Thanks Reinardina and everyone else. I'll put up the challenge in a couple of days
