That's the trouble with broadband, it isn't the line that can affect your speed, but the broadband provider, who can and does reduce the speed you get. The more you use it the slower it becomes and if you complain, they trot out the excuse that it's line usage, which begs the question why this happens at 03:30 when most people are in bed.  :uglystupid2:

Usually that is when they do backups, upgrades, etc. which slows things down even more. The less customers that are online, the less customers that are annoyed...even more. ;)

My plazma tv has died 2 months after it having a new psu & main board (under warranty). The 3 year warranty has now expired and it seems from searching the web the psu has failed again  >:(
A common problem apparently.

Now trying to decide if its worth repairing and run the risk of it failing again in the near future. Will call the repair company & hope they guaranteed the work thats been done.

The repair should be guaranteed for at least 3 months even if the warranty has expired (used to work for an extended warranty provider) although T&Cs differ, most warranty companies require the repairer to guarantee the work for XX months....depends who your warranty is with, if it's D&G (Domestic and General) you may have some problems but keep hassling them also try phoning the repairer anonymously and ask how long they guarantee their repairs for...but all repair work should be guaranteed for at least 3 months...let us know how you get on though...

Warranty is 3 months as you say but they need to check its the psu before saying they will fix it under warranty, £20 collection fee (100 mile round trip x2 if i take & collect it) which seems reasonable.
Numerous reports on the net about the capacitors on the psu being weak especially on Samsung tv's, even a couple of videos on how to change them yourself for pennys rather than replace the whole psu.
In the meantime gone from 50" to 19" tv, need binoculars or an eye test!

An acquaintance who worked in the same building as I did contacted me last Oct. She'd purchased one of my photos a year before and was looking for something to match it as she was renovating her office. Took me a couple of weeks to find a matching frame but I had the print framed and ready by mid Nov. I still have it. Today for the umpteenth time she has cancelled out on picking up the print. This is not a case of me calling her to come for it, it's her setting up the meetings and not following through.  >:(

Paying 1.38p a litre for unleaded on the M40. My fault for not topping up before I went to Focus in B'ham. What a complete waste of time. :uglystupid2:

Not qute sure what annoyed you today.
                 Was it:
                 a) Paying 1.38p a litre?
                 b) Going to Focus in Birmingham?
                              As Ever.
                                             Graham.  ???

Both really.
I was there on Wednesday as well. It was quiet by other years standards, but that did mean that if I wanted to speak tp someone I did'nt have to sharpen my elbows!
Oh and Jonathan tried to sell me some lights. (Maybe one day.)

that's a good price. The absolute cheapest here is 1.40 £/ltr, "normal" prices are around 1.46.

We're paying $1.23 a litre, works out to $4.92 a gal. Just south of me in the good old U.S. of A they're paying $3.62 a gal. What's galling is some of that Oil was imported from Canada. Even worse, beer brewed a few miles from my house sells in Buffalo N.Y.for half the price I have to pay.
