I have been  using LR 4.4 for a couple of years now.
Was wondering if its worth upgrading to 6 ?
So over to you experienced users.
Are there any real advantages to the paid upgrades in your opinion ?

TIA

It's a long time since I used 4.4, so cannot remember the benefits of upgrading to v6.4. You can see the difference her between 5 & 6 http://www.adobe.com/uk/products/photoshop-lightroom/versions.html
The main benefits for me was the ability to process the 7D MK11 raw files. As I use CS6 I very rarely use the HDR or panorama settings.

I use LR6.4 all the time (Rarely use CS6) - I didn't like LR before 4 (No idea why, just didn't get it I think!).

From memory there are a lot of improvements in 6 from 4 regarding the processing engine for one area.

You can always install the trial and if you don't like it (That would genuinely surprise me!) un-install and go back to LR4.

Thanks for the link
so if I have read the page correctly, by upgrading from 4.4 to 6 I get

Easily create HDR images and superwide stunning scenes with panoramas
Easily find photos of specific people with facial recognition

Hardly worth the 8GBP/month

I cannot read the yellow part and if it's a link it does not work for me.
Now you have me puzzled. You mention 8 GBP per month, if you are on Creative Cloud you should already have v6. Upgrade from v4 should be a little under £60. Adobe will make you jump through a few hoops to get the upgrade.
Have a look at this http://owenbillcliffe.co.uk/lightroom-6-standalone-upgrade/ It provides the Adobe link to purchasing the upgrade (if you're lucky) As I said they don't make it easy to buy.

Another Link for you http://prodesigntools.com/adobe-lightroom-6-cc-direct-download-links.html

It's only £100 per year for the full Photoshop and you get lightroom  for free.  ;)

If you already have CS6 and Lightroom then £100 PA is a lot of money to pay.  If you're just starting out then It's good value. Alfonso does not say if he uses Photoshop, but even so he can buy the upgrade to Lightroom v6.4 for £60 one off payment.
