Congratulations Oldboy, on your image being selected for IOTW as chosen by last weeks winner Andy.

Image is now live on front page, or you can view the image in the gallery should you wish to make a comment etc.

Quite a few deserving images uploaded recently, but after some deliberation, the poetic air in capturing the eye peeping through the wing feathers just tipped the balance.

Good choice Andy.

Congratulations OB. A brilliant illustration of nature in the raw.

Well done Oldboy. Great photo of a difficult subject. Good work.

Thanks Reinardina,

To me it is a 'driver shot' where an element of luck in the image spurs a photographer on to the next photograph.

And in this particular shot (where the subject is cruel in nature) perhaps a softener that provides a sense in balance, as gulls are known for their keen sight in cleaning up fallen food from the pavements.

Oldboy

I only got back online today after sorting out my computer.  :-[

Thanks for picking this photo Andy and others for your kind words.

Of course it's luck to capture it with the eye visible, almost like a Victorian melodrama where the villan is hiding his face with a cape.  ;D
