In the UK headlights are only required outside of 30mph and where there are no streetlights.

Unless you are on a bicycle, in which case the universal rules appears to be that you never need any lights at any time for any reason . . . ever.

Front foglights should be perfectly adequate for 'being seen' in a built up area as they are the same wattage as headlights, just more diffuse and not pointing directly into the field of vision of oncoming traffic. So actually probably better. But if you need to see where you are going, well  :uglystupid2:

There might be less choice on cameras now.  :o

Fears are mounting over the future of camera chain Jessops as the retailer is understood to be on the brink of administration.
PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) is believed to be lined up as administrator.
The chain - Britain's only specialist nationwide camera retailer with nearly 200 stores - reportedly announced earlier this week that 15 of its stores would close this year.
The group's administration would mark the first high profile retail collapse of 2013 and comes soon after consumer electricals chain Comet hit the wall, sparking more than 6,000 job losses.
Jessops, which has its headquarters in Leicester, has suffered in recent years from online competition and the boom in camera phones, which has hit demand for digital cameras.
It underwent a major overhaul in 2007 and a swathe of store closures, but came close to collapse two years later before being rescued by its main lender HSBC in a controversial debt-for-equity swap that saw it taken off the stock market.
The bank took a 50% stake in the business in return for writing off £34 million of loans.
There was speculation last year that suppliers such as Canon were considering injecting cash into Jessops to help prop the business up, but no deal materialised.
The group last year also suffered the loss of its chief executive Trevor Moore, who left to head up HMV, as well as its chairman David Adams.
Martyn Everett was then appointed as chairman and Neil Old was promoted to lead the business as chief operating officer. The firm began life in 1935 when Frank Jessop opened his first shop in Leicester.  :'(

All of our snow is gone.  It was 13C and 14C on the weekend and some rain melted it all.  Back to -1C today.

It turned to rain from 09:00 until about 13:00 when the sun came out until 15:30 when  it started raining again. With all the rain we had for the last eight months I was hoping for snow!!!!  >:( >:( >:(

We had snow today!

What annoyed me today was the three people who I saw driving one handed whilst holding a mobil phone in the other hand. One even lost control whilst talking on the phone. All this with six inches of compressed snow on the roads.  >:( >:( >:(

Idiots who clear a little square on their windscreens so they can see out but don't think need to clear both the whole windscreen or their lights so walking to work this morning nearly got hit by some prat....and invisible cyclists....pitch black by a junction because a street light was out and this idiot with no lights or high viz clothing shouts a load of abuse at me because he nearly came off coming round the corner becuase I didn't see him....I have said this before and I will say it again, it should be compulsory for all cyclists and motorcyclists to wear high viz clothing when it is dark no ifs no buts and you get fined if you don't...(I also believe cyclist should have to pay a nominal £10.00 a year insurance but that's a WHOLE other argument) and rant over now breathe and relax...calm thoughts...calm thoughts.... waves gently lapping at the shore...

My regular visit to the endocrinologist today. He's still trying to push me for bariatric surgery. I already told him, I'm terrified of getting surgery. Now he wants me on 4 shots of insulin a day, even though he says it will make me bigger. I'm already carrying around 235 lbs. I  went as high as 270 lbs. once upon a time. He's the doctor but I don't get how being fatter is better than having higher blood sugar. Its just trading one problem, diabetes, for another problem, greater risk of heart attack. Now I'm just frustrated and depressed.  :(
And more, much more than this, I did it my way

Sorry to hear that Spin', how much would the surgery help? I'm sure that there would be copeing strategies to help you deal with the fear.
