Why do they look better & sharper here than in the general gallery ?.......... :legit:
Almost certainly the resizing algorithm.
The exact pixels you display at vs actual pixels is critical.
Same thing in Flickr. If you post a pic in a thread that's hosted at Flickr it looks sharper than one hosted off site unless you use exactly the right dimensions.
Thanks for that but what would be the correct size ( pixels ) for the gallery here. I had noticed elsewhere like Flicker that the pictures were sharper..... :legit:
I think Jonathan hit the nail on the head. It's probably the lightbox script that causes it.
Keeping in mind the fact that it resizes the pic based on how much browser window is available when the first image is shown. Some of the images come up quite small when I view them on my widescreen monitor.
But if I click F11 on my keyboard when I'm in the gallery, the browser window increases to use the maximum size of my screen. and then if I click a image to full size the result is much better.
Dave, You could try it and see if things improve. ;)
