To explain these are gifts my daughter and son in law gave me on their wedding day and shortly after. One of the proudest days of my life made even better by me being so involved in shooting the preps and other parts of the day where I could. When my daughter decided not to get married down south because of cost and not finding the right venue I advised of a great palce I`d loved shooting weddings at that they would love and also a wedding dress warehouse in Northallerton where she`d get the ideal dress at half the price she was finding them for using money given by her grandmother who had dies of pancreatic cancer just a couple of months earlier. Of course she didn`t listen to her dad at first - as is often the case. Then on one visit to Leeds I put them in a car and took them to both and not only did she find the dress at a great price but loved the venue. They didn`t ignore other wedding advice after that and I got them a make up artist ( brides always look better with a good pro make up artist at work) and also identified the grooms pre-wedding hotel and groomsmen shoot schedules. When I got my gift of the wooden engraved case with a bottle of my favourite Rioja in it at the speeches I must admit I welled up but not as much as I did with the photo frame and shot given a couple fo weeks later taken in my proudest moment. Enough guff.... :-[
Heart-warming indeed Paul.
I did the basics on my effort this afternoon, then got dragged to the garden centre to see their Christmas display - oh joy - I'll edit and post tomorrow.
Wonderful gifts Paul. My eyes welled up too! Your daughter is very lucky.

Swagger Stick

My Grandpa's swagger stick (and the memory of his word upon doing the right thing helps to keep me sane).
Had planned to photograph my Omega watch that was a 21st present from my parents. Anyway, things took a turn at work last week which has had a massive impact, and has kind of taken over.
Great stories so far. I like the idea of an emotion attached to a photo. Sorry I couldn't enter, as trying to be more involved again.
