Before cameras, many artists produced charcoal or pencil sketches, to take back to the studieo before producing the final colour picture in oils.  ;D

Well Art is  done too by the golden ratio . It's life even a sunflower knows that. If it didn't grow by the goled ratio it would fall apart . The snail's shell is a golden ratio. The spiral. Artist  call it the golden rectangle . The spiral is within that golden rectangle . Rule  of the thirds.

Do tomatoes have to do the same thing, only mine are rubbish this year! My snails seem to have got the idea though.
