Title: Nikon D7000 replacement
Post by: loveclose on October 20, 2012, 03:38:11 PM
Hi gang,

Anyone any further news on a potential replacement for the D7000??

Camera definitely appears to be being phased out gradually.  Body only price is going down to around £699 from Jessops, £689 from Mifsuds and grey import dealer HDew selling @ £589.

Still sorely tempted, had a fiddle in Jessops recently and was duly impressed.  Significant upgrade from D200, only 16.5 mpx but sensor and focussing system superb, despite reports on web and customer reviews concerning back focussing issues.

I'm guessing that if a replacement for the D7000 appears (D7000S, say) that the price will be in excess of £1000.  I'm guessing the mpx will be upgraded to match say the 26mpx of other Nikon cameras.

I don't see a cheaper cam like the D3200 as being a suitable upgrade despite the significant mpx increase on this cam.  Camera features and control are nowhere near similar to the D200.

So it's a case of Spend, or Save and Wait........help me choose......!!  I just wondered if anyone had any further insight into potential D7000 replacement......

FWIW pixel envy is a bit pointless. If the camera meets your requirements at the price you are willing to pay, then buy it.

Says he still happily snapping away with various cameras from 9mp to a paltry 16mp :)

I felt the same, but good to hear I'm not alone.

Just don't want to find a d7ks for example that would be say £800.....but that ain't gonna happen.....
