We had a big storm here yesterday (what they call a Nor'Easter) and lost power for the whole day.  I took the opportunity to build a light tent out of an old box and gave it a whirl.  I am pretty good at keeping my camera and flash batteries charged so I was able to shoot despite not having power.

I might have to go for a shot I have in stock as I don't think I will have any time to get one - which is a shame give cars are a favourite - not that I'm lacking images!

The one I've put up could have been used for the flash comp the other week but I forgot until it was too late - It was this event that I decided the 5D wasn't quick enough! So bought a 1D mk3!

Great photo Mark.
And I like the fact that you have rationale for buying a new camera!!

The chap I was with did a lot of motorsport photography so was a great learning experience. Earlier in the day we had been on a corner with a dip which caused the cars to lift a front wheel. I could get one shot and he could 3 in the same time. It did mean I had to be very precise with my shooting - but it was a good excuse!

Had to go with an archive image - the weather remains absolutely vile, although not snowy as it is in the UK again.

This was a vandalised, presumably stolen, Fiesta that was burnt out in a lay-by not too far from here.

Revisited my new favourite car workshop to get a photo for the comp this week.
