twere on the bottom of a tree it were, if it were a full circle it would have been about 12"...just like a pizza.

The first look like Oyster Fungus found on Beech and other deciduous trees. The second set of pictures is the Parasol Mushroom. Both of these are very common.  ;D

sorry about not findind a rare thingy ;D
i wouldn't fancy the first one but the 2nd one may be nice with an egg and a rasher or 2 of bacon...maybe throw in some beans and a bit of brown sauce :tup:
