My christmas cake recipe  :tup:

CHRISTMAS CAKE - Ingredients:

* 2 cups flour
* 1 stick butter
* 1 cup of water
* 1 tsp baking soda
* 1 cup of sugar
* 1 tsp salt
* 1 cup of brown sugar
* Lemon juice
* 4 large eggs
* Nuts
* 1 bottle Brandy
* 2 cups of dried fruit

Sample the brandy to check quality. Take a large bowl, check the brandy
again. To be sure it is of the highest quality, pour one level cup and
drink. Repeat. Turn on the electric mixer. Beat one cup of butter in a large
fluffy bowl. Add one teaspoon of sugar. Beat again. At this point it's best
to make sure the brandy is still OK. Try another cup... Just in case. Turn
off the mixerer thingy. Break 2 eggs and add to the bowl and chuck in the
cup of dried fruit.

Pick the frigging fruit up off floor. Mix on the turner. If the fried druit
gets stuck in the beaterers just pry it loose with a drewscriver. Sample the
brandy to check for tonsisticity. Next, sift two cups of salt. Or something.
Check the brandy. Now shift the lemon juice and strain your nuts. Add one
table. Add a spoon of sugar, or some fink. Whatever you can find. Greash the
oven. Turn the cake tin 360 degrees and try not to fall over. Don't forget
to beat off the turner. Finally, throw the bowl through the window. Finish
the brandy and wipe counter with the cat.

Just got back from Camera Club got a 9/10 for my View from the Tate Terrace shot (need to load it into the gallery) and 8.5/10 for my Rutting Deer shot which is in the wildlife gallery so 17.5 out of a possible 20....well chuffed and think that may have put me at the top of the leader board in the Standard Class  :tup:......Great judge that Mr Abercrombie sir will know, Jay Charnock of Rich & Twick PS very very constructive comments and some great advice particularly about the three things that make a photo....Timing, Geometry & Lighting....which when you actually stop to think about it, is exactly what a photo is all about.....very chuffed with my scores though and the compliments she gave out to everyone not just me....

ABERS

Well done Keith, told you a camera club is the place to learn. Taught Jay everything she knows ;)

krennon

Thanks Alan and you were spot, on join a club I've made a few friends there and we've been out on a couple of shoots n stuff and if anyones been reading AP in recent weeks there's been lots of letters back n forth about perceived "camera snobbery" I have not come across this at all it's not what you take the shot with it's the shot you take that matters, a couple of members have put shots in that were taken with point n shoots that have scored highly....so anyone thinking of joining a club I say do it.....you can only learn from it...

Well done indeed Keith. I particularly liked the Stag shot and thought it worth all the marks it be given.

Hope to be joining in the Horsham Club in the new year now the move has started to settle down. Also have the Crawley club just up the road - but a 25 minute walk is preferable to a 25 minute drive!

ABERS

A couple of things so far this week.

Two print acceptances for International Exhibitions.

1. Mono person picture for the 2011 Smethwick International.

2. Mono landscape for the RPS Members Exhibition. :)

Congrats Paul - don't suppose you got paid?

Shame about the contest overall though - same old same old - winning pictures a mixture of specialist equipment, exotic locations and freakshow.
