Oldboy

Cracking shot and expression on that lady.  ;D

ABERS

That's a cracker of a portrait Irv. The lady's personality shines through, she looks like someone who has a great joy of life.

Sarasocke

Excellent portrait Irv!

Which lense did you use? Did you get chatting to her at all?

Week 3 and my challenge was to take a portrait shot of a stranger which I finally succeeded to today

any suggestions for next week?

Nice shot, right up there with an Aberism...if it was in B+W. :-)

Ideas for next week: London bus at night with light trails?

Thanks for your nice comment everyone
@carol - It was my 50mm f1.8 which I am trying to use more often.
I chatted with her for ten mins or so as she was waiting for her friends to come from getting something to eat and she was saying about how they travel the country on a canal barge, just stop off where they want and do whatever they please 8)
Thanks H for your suggestion for next week, I'll have a look at converting it

Week 4 and with the crappy weather all week down here, I had to wait till yesterday (Friday) before I could get out to do this weeks challenge but I think it was worth it

Had the day off today to take one of my lads to Gatwick airport and consequently missed a great sunrise but went for a long walk with the dog and managed to get this after a bit of work to get it back to how I saw it.

What about "Misery"?
I had the idea for this one pretty much right away -unusually for me. I wanted to show the seedier side of life but never really got the opportunity, then I saw this with the post in the middle and tried my best to do it without the homeless guys seeing me - I did talk to them after and took a couple of posed pics that I'll post soon. Not sure of the b/w conversion though!
Thanks for looking
