I've never really thought about teams changing their names so as not to offend.
There are still teams here called, 'chiefs' and 'Warriors.' I wonder if they'll ever change??
Northampton Saints get their name form the are of Northampton that the are from - St James.
They are also called Jimmies but not very often.
Sorry to bore you.
May the Force be with you.

Went to Focus today and didn't spend any money :)

Didn't seem as big this year - though the Canon stand was huge!

Had a play with the 1Dx in the CPS stand - and it is on my need list !!!! Stunning is an understatement!

I've been very lazy these past few months so I got down to some real photography today, none of this PDI nonsense.

Been working on 8 prints over the last month and am finally satisfied with them, spent the morning mounting and matting them, all my own work.

From pressing the button to developing (photoshopping) to printing to finishing. Just like the good old days. Feeling extremely chuffed at the moment.

What is "PDI nonsense" Alan? - There seem to be lots of PDI redefines including Personally Developed Images  ;)

Photobox impressed me today. I`ve been waiting for a 100 page photo book I got cheap through Groupon. Loads of trouble uploading / ordering it - seems IE9 and their software is not a good mix. Anyway should have come by now so sent an email to get an apology sayoing they were so sorry and because it could have been for Mothers Day they had upgraded it to special delivery at no extra choice and gave me a £10 gift order number for a product to spend by mid April. I replied that that was all very well but useless for a Mothers Day gift as it still did not say when it would be coming though late, I didn`t want another gift and special delivery late is still late and I was not happy with their service. They called me straight back and offered me a canvas wall print by tomorrow if I ordered by 3 which I`ve done. Feel a little guilty that it was not a Mothers Day gift but I had wanted the book by tomorrow to show friends we don`t see much of.
I know one or two have seen it through facebook but anyone interested in my India blogs can see them here:

Had the good fortune to attend a talk by Denis THorpe yesterday, ex Guardian staff photographer. Feel totally enthused and invigorated photographywise.

Now where did I put that camera?  :-\

Err lots of things recently but wmmfREALLYgood....the mrs and I have started the adoption workshops heavy going emotionally draining and no guarantees we will get through panel and approved but our fingers are crossed, lots of reading to do that is compulsory so not a lot of time for anything else at the mo including photography also trying to do an NVQ for work...
So that's the reasons for me not being round much at the moment but hope to be on more soon. We've got 2 more workshops to do for the adoption then LOTS of home visits by social workers plus calls/visits to friends/family etc to make sure we are capable and able to have a child then hopefully if we get through all of that we go up in front of panel who decide yay or nay. Then if it's yay looking for a match begins: girls opreferably 2 (siblings) ages 3-7 yrs (have to be same sex as we only have a 2 bedroom house) and so potentially in about 8-12 months we could be a mummy and daddy  :D

Sounds like you are busy.
Hope all goes smoothly for you.

Good luck to you and the missus Keith. It's a long and winding road, often totally baffling, I believe, to become adoptive parents.
If everyone had to be so thoroughly vetted, before being allowed to become parents, there would not be many children!

I've a couple of good friends who adopted some years ago, so have some idea of the hoops they make you jump through! Worth it in the end! Good luck!
Whatever and ever. Amen
