WMMFG.    May not seem much to anyone else but today I photographed a Rally Car which included my business name on it. They had included me free of charge as I had done some promotional work for them and I recommended the Graphics company to them.

My logo is under the KN Transmissions sign.

Nice one Dave.  A proud moment for sure.

Now did you get a spin in the car mate, just to top it off.  :D

Not yet but hopefully sometime soon.  I am thinking of rigging up a video camera inside at their next competition / meeting at Blyton, Lincolnshire on the 24th November.

I got out of the shower this morning to see one of the girls had joined her mum in bed.  They just looked so comfy together.

Thanks  Mick, Jinky & H .  Maybe if or when I am the main sponsor I would have more to shout about. But seriously that is not going to happen, motor sport is a never ending pit for money ( A bit like photography )   ;D

ABERS

Great stuff Dave.

What rally series will the car take part in and who are the driver and navigator? See you on the podium.

Thanks Abers.

The Driver is Ross Miller and Navigator Bradley Johnson. Both from the Ribble Valley area of Lancashire.  They are now in a position to compete in the World Rally Championship ( WRC ) but only in this country to begin with. They will be competing in the Malcolm Wilson Rally next year  ( Lake District ) which is the present name for one of the old RAC Rally stages plus other events around the country some of which I will be photographing.

We keep supplying the local papers with photos and race reports to create spin for them. Hopefully the pictures of the car in action will look much better now with all the sponsors names and graphics on it.

They will be testing the car and then entering a competition at Blyton Race Track in Lincolnshire next month.  A picture of them below and before and after shots of the car.

I had the good fortune to 'navigate' for Malcolm Wilson on one occasion during his sponsored rally. Part of my remit was to oversee my company's involvement in British motorsport and we worked closely together on the British rally scene, which ended up with Malcolm and Brian Thomas winning the British Rally Championship in 1994 in the Michelin Pilot Ford Escort Cosworth.

I use the word 'navigate' very loosely. Malcolm was just making a guest appearance on his rally over just four stages of the event, and I was strapped in to make up the number, since Malcolm knew the stages like the back of his hand. The only contribution I made was to hang on tight and scream occasionally! :o

If you get the chance to sit in the car Dave and you like a  never to be forgotten thrill, especially through a forest stage, take it.

A photographer's dream when in full flight.

Not sure I could cope with that   :o   especially through a forest.

You mentioned "rigging" a camera in the car Dave - it will need to be properly fitted as it will be scruitineered at the start of any rally - but you knew that. :)

Your quite right Mark, but what a test it will be for the IS on the video camera ( Canon XM 2 )   ;D
