Does anyone know if there is such a thing as a mouse specifically for a laptop, ie one without 4 feet of cable!
8-10 inches would be ideal (No sniggering.) I've opened one up and I'm not sure I want to try and shorten it! :-\

Well there must be because one came with my laptop. Don`t know where to buy one though. The mouse is smaller too and I get cramp in my hand after too much use - again no smutty comments please! ;)

Certainly - I bought one in PC World some time back. A two button plus scroll wheel optical mouse, much smaller than usual and with a very flexible tail only about 18" long.

Yes I use a Logitech mouse (sorry don't know the model as the box has long since gone) which is small and designed for use with a laptop i.e. small enough to carry in your laptop case. The wireless module is a small USB hub working on 2.4GHz which slides flush into the base of the mouse when not in use, and obviously into a USB port on the laptop when in use. Comes with 2 buttons and a central scroll wheel and a nice little carrying case. It's powered by 2 x AA batteries and in mine I have the rechargeable type.

I have a laptop and I use one of THESE   Both the keyboard and mouse are wireless and I prefer to hammer a keyboard I can replace for a tenner than the one built into the laptop... Also great for when the grand children go on the computer. Read the reviews - I'm not the only one who likes them.

I've got a colleague who has a mouse where the USB wire is retractable, it's pretty neat.

Its a small form mouse where you just pull out the required length of cable and plug it in. When you've finished unplug and give it a slight pull out and the lock opens and the cord retracts back in.

It's one of these...
