For fellow real camera users, HERE (http://www.pentax.jp/english/support/index.php) is the link to the latest, 22nd April, firmware updates.
Although they officially only mention increased SD card compatibility, the consensus is that they also contain metering and AF tweaks.
Many thanks for that Tringle. I updated to 1.30 soon after I bought my K10D. Problem free, so even though I probably don't need this upgrade I've downloaded it ready to do when I can empty one of my cards.

I've updated both of my bodies - all OK so far.
Nice to hear from fellow Pentax users. I have actually never updated either of my cameras maybe I should try.
Sandy
I've updated mine now, and all seems fine. For Sandy - it's really very simple to do. Their instructions are excellent (except for a spelling error - route directory rather than root). And, as they say, ensure your battery is fully charged first.

FWIW I always format the card I am going to use for the update using the OS tool (not the one in the camera menu as this leaves a directory on the card).

You don't need to format the card or remove any folders. Just copy the update to the boot directory and from there the camera will find it.
I know that OB, but I am a belt and braces man. Sometimes, anyway. ;D
