I have now bought a Kia Nero EV - I went to look at them last weekend at a dealership - they had 4 in stock - 2 older models and 2 newer ones. Looked at the old one first - it had done about 40k miles and was black about 2020. Was a bit meeh - the satnag screen was badly scratched. Then looked at a 2022 White one - which is the new shape - and was so much nicer. And a lot more money. Why is it I have initial ideas of budget and when I go to get something blow it!  :uglystupid2:

Our new (to us) car is a Peugeot 3008 diesel, which is my first introduction to Adblue - and there's a story to that! given that this thread is about being bemused, I'll just skip straight to the great question on my mind - where does that name come from? Even a search engine doesn't help, and an article that from the title purports to answer the question doesn't even attempt to. I gather that it's colourless. The nearest similar item seems to be that Peugeot named their latest diesel engines with "blue" in the name - connection or coincidence?
Art is not what we see; it's what we make others see.

I'm not sure why it's called that, but from what I've read Adblue is just a tradename registered by the German car manufacturers association.  I think you'll find the same stuff under different names as well. It's what they call a (DEF) = Diesel Exhaust Fluid.

Just don't let the tank become empty, although I think you can carry on driving when it runs out, it won't let you restart it until you fill up. Not sure if that applies to all vehicles using the system.

Yes it does - its part of the regulations for the stuff. I use to put it in my Superb - did last for a good while to be fair. And plenty of warning before it ran out - so there is really no excuse. I got it from Amazon a couple of times - then found I could add it to the company fuel card at BP!
