Does anybody use an IPOD with the appropriate accessory as a portable drive for photography?

Mick

Is there such an accessory? Cool.  8)

Never used an IPOD my self, but would also be interested in the answer.  ;)

No.  I've heard they are very s-l-o-w.  I bet it doesn't work with the Touch either because they won't work in "disk" mode.  Shame cos the screen is gorgeous.

I use one for showing people pics on - they love it.

Thing is the Ipod touch and phone have a max of 32Gb - hardly a huge amount of storage - my Iphone is already over half full, and its the 32Gb version!

The classic would be ok - but as has been said, it would be fairly slow.

And its expensive compared to a external HD - I bought a 120Gb one a couple of years ago for about £60 - should be cheaper now!

IMHO what would be good would be a card reader for the Iphone / touch where you could use the screen to display photos on a larger screen than on your camera. I'd buy one as long as it did CF and SD.

OnOne do some software to allow the Iphone (Touch too?) to control Canon cameras with live view - you see the live view on the Iphone. But you need to be teathered - so I can't see a lot of point - except you can have the camera/PC local to the subject and the Iphone connected wirelessly some way away.

Otherwise, a card reader would be good - and I agree CF and SD would be a requirement!
