Today, at 16.00 pm (local time), a military transport plane will again land at Eindhoven military airport, to bring some of the victims of flight MH17, closer to home.

The ceremony will be the same as on previous occasions; under police escort, the bodies will be taken to the Korporaal Van Oudheusden barracks in Hilversum, for identification.

At this time of year, when we remember those killed in past conflicts, it is good to spare a thought for the many civilian victims that get caught in the cross fire. Then and now.
