This is the CHAT thread

It's probably lack of imagination but I find subjects such as fun or cool very difficult, so let's have something simple: This week the topic is BICYCLE.

The main subject of your photo must be one or more pedal cycles - maybe a penny farthing in a museum, a child's first ride without stabilisers, a lady in a long dress sailing along on a Dutch roadster, a club cyle race, BMX stunt.....   Editing limited to cropping, adjusting colour (or converting to monochrome) but no montages or Picasso effects.

Pictures to be taken between 00.01am Monday Monday 16 August to Sunday 22nd August.
Pictures to be posted in the entries thread no later than 23.59pm Monday 23rd August.
Poll will be up Tuesday 24th August  until 23.59pm Friday 27th August.
Winner to be announced Saturday 28th August (winner should post the new topic no later than 23.59 Sunday 29th August).

The Rules for the weekly competition are...

By entering you agree to take responsibility to
post a topic on the Sunday following your declared win
create an entries thread
create a chat thread
create a poll for that weeks comp and declare the winner on the Saturday
(if for any reason there is a problem and no subject is posted by the winner by Monday night admin will advise second place winner to post the topic asap, do the poll etc)

In case of a tie, the first entry posted wins.

photos to be taken during the specified dates, ie sunday xx to Monday xx

pictures to be posted in the entries thread no later than 23.59 Monday night

Poll to be created Tuesday to run till Friday, winner declared Saturday

Editing limits to be specified by the person choosing the competition subject, if nothing is mentioned then there is no limit to editing allowed.

Montage images should only contain images taken within specified dates

Please don't vote for your own entry

Everyone is welcome and comments and critique on the entries are also welcome

Posting your entries, and setting up the poll.  Instructions are here: http://cameracraniums.com/forum/index.php?topic=382.0

I rather like Del's entry - the only one so far. I hope there'll be more soon....

Alan, i take it that is Orrell as in Orrell Park Station?

If so then my comment is this - a Scouser would still find a way of making off with the bike whilst people were sitting outside eating lunch.
The greater the challenge - the greater the bare faced cheek used to mee the challenge!

Shame motors weren't allowed

She did have her feet on the pedals though  ;)

A bicycle is a mode of transport composed of two wheels.
I'd say your picture meets that criteria

People forget that "motorcycle" is just an abbreviation for "motorised bicycle", cos like most things we're too lazy to call something by its full name

However, for my support you'd have to apply some "content aware fill" to the distraction just behind the fuel tank  :legit:

Colin - Nice photo. But you're right - I did say PEDAL cycles.

Cheers, Simon
