I had a  'phone call this afternoon from the owner of a local vineyard who wants me to exhibit some pictures at her open day in a few week's time.  As the lab printing services in France are a) extortionate, and b) slow as heck, so I would like to know if anyone here has a favourite lab for up to A3 size prints with reasonable pricing and turnaround. It doesn't matter if they only ship to UK addresses, I can get them forwarded.

All help advice etc gratefully received.

Cheers,

Howard

I am in Spain and the service from Photobox to here is excellent, usually 3 day service. I have never had larger than A4 from them though so cannot comment about the quality of the A3's.

Thanks for all the advice.

Dave, at this stage I only want 3 or 4 A3s of different shots, the A4s and smaller I will print on my little Canon on Kayenta Matt. The French like matt prints.

In the meantime I shall have a look at the Photobox site.

Cheers,

Howard

I just dug out an old DCM that recommended Loxley Colour for quality and ease of use. Well, signing on was a nightmare of bad design, and having gained access to the site I cannot see anywhere on it how to to get 'just' a print without some added frame, treatment or mounting. Not to mention very expensive.

A definite miss for me at this stage I'm afraid.

Another thumbs up for photobox. Used them a few times for A4 and A3 and recently a 80cm x 50cm canvas.
Very pleased with the result and price.
Also used Colab a few times and although more expensive, the quality is very good indeed.

One last question for those who have used 3rd party printers - should I or should I not sharpen the images for the printer, and if so by how much?

Thanks.
