One thing I've been wondering for some time now, is how you found this forum in the first place.
So, just out of interest, how did you find CC?
1: Someone recommend this site to you?
2: Found it on a search engine, Google etc?
3: I poached you from another forum? :-X :-[
4: Some other method?
I knew a lot of my old friends from DCM fled here, when it changed to PR. I didn't dare follow, as I was still very much in awe of most of them, but Andy (Beauxreflets) convinced me that I would not be eaten alive.
To long ago to remember.....
I think in the early DCM years I also registered for this site and Photoping. The latter has now ran its course, shame though.
Long time ago but i think i saw mention of CC on PR, had a look and joined.

I think I was a "late adopter". I seem to remember Mr Jinky introduced me as we were "doing a bit of business" ....D200 related....not....you know....! :legit:
I think it was from the PR site, when everyone with any photo nous left and came here.
I was googling for some advice on which bridge camera to go for, and one of the results was a post in this forum.
The rest, they say....

I got one off you a couple of years ago :tup: still have it in fact ;D

Alf, do you realise your first post here was on: October 17, 2007. Jeez, has it really been that long. :o And If I remember we started with some other CMS software which I couldn't get the hang of, so we actually started before that date. :beer:

Demise of the DCM Forums
I joined the DCMag Flickr group and when the competition went back to PR, I didn't want to go back as I'd previously had an unpleasant encounter with an unpleasant individual. The in-crowd had already gathered here and so I tagged along!

Don't mention the Pirates. :o It took me ages to clean that lot up. I was stuck on my own then, no other mods on the team, and no paid staff around either. Did they thank me, did they heck. :knuppel2:

I joined back in the day of DCM and was a member of both but back then stuck to DCM, when everyone left DCM after it became PR I stayed here and been on here since, although I am also a member of Dyxum as well, I tend to stay here where it's warm and fuzzy and I know the people and have been privileged to go out a few times on shoots with peeps from here... :tup:
I joined in the days of DCM as well. From DCM I joined Ping where I met Mick and he invited me to join here. I started my own wedding business in 2006 so havent had much time for recreational photography. I retired from the wedding business this year and I'm glad to be back. It's still a really friendly site.

I was part of DCM for about 3 years, then got a bit fed up when it turned to PR....I saw this bloke pedalling his website...cough cough....sorry "Signature" at the bottom of his comments, so I gave it a click out of curiousity and hey presto ;) :tup:
I 'found' DCM in April 2007 through the late POTY competition. I was a passive member for some time, just reading all the wise words and tips about photography. I started to become more active (on the site) just before it changed to PR, and a lot of well known members left.
After the big row about a 'non pp' competition, even more friends left, and eventually I followed. I'd seen Mick's 'ads' on PR, but it was one of the other members that finally persuaded me. I was uncertain about it for some time, as almost all of the crack photographers were on CC and I felt out of my depth, being just a beginner. But I'm glad I joined and I think I left the beginner stage behind me.
I was two timing for a while, as I stuck with PR, on and off, till very recently when I got totally fed up with certain aspects.
I found the forum by the disallowed third choice :2funny:
A signature line of someone on another forum which shall remain nameless to protect DCW.
Several years ago I was on DCM and getting fed up with it when someone there suggested this one.
Some character PM'd me on the DCM site when I was ranting about something or other :-X
I used to belong to a little site called Photo.pic and a few others from here did too.
Carl introduced me to this site when the other site stopped running he found me on DCM amd pointed me here :)

Hi I was on DCW but for the last week before it went of I was having login issues and was getting very little
help from the owners then mick asked me to try with the same login details I used on DCW to try to login in
here it worked with no problem so that was that I decided to stay.

Welcome to CC!
This has been the refuge of choice, for disgruntled DCM/PR/DCW forum members, and of course DCW 'orphans' are very welcome too!
Plenty of familiar names and faces here.
It may take a bit of time, to get used to the set up (it took me some time, but that might be my age), but this is a very friendly site and there is always someone, somewhere prepared to answer questions or explain things.
And you can always contact Mick.
Does this now mean DCW is not coming back ? Does this mean they will not sort out my login issue ;) :legit: I wish they had sorted my issue before they disappeared or was that asking to much they have left me thinking it was my fault I could not login.

They never bothered to solve anything.
I think they should have given the mods more resposability as they are around the forum and
they can see better were the problems are and in a better position to help.
I did say this to them but they did not want to even listen :doh:
