Rumour: Samyang to make auto focus lenses

Samyang right now makes some inexpensive manual focus lenses.  Their 14mm is popular.  I have been planning on getting their 8 mm fisheye myself.

If that's true, it could be very interesting...

It will be.  Of course they will be more expensive than now, they will cost more to make.  They will also be larger to give room for the motor.  However given that many of their lenses are optically very good they could become competitive.

Don, do you buy these online? Or is there somewhere in Toronto that sells 'off' brands? All I have near me is Henry's and Vistek and I haven't seen anything in their stores except the big boys.
And more, much more than this, I did it my way

I have the 8mm fisheye, good lens but bought on a whim and not really used it. Be nice to have another alternative, Canon stuff going through the roof price wise, very dissappointed with Sigma since i upgraded my camera half my Sigma gear wont play! Should have listened to the scare stories.

I would be buying online, B&H or Amazon, they have both even had them on sale before.

What camera and lenses are not playing together?  I know I have seen this before and the person was able to get Sigma to update the firmware or something in the lens to work.  I am pretty sure it was on the DCW site forums so I cannot look it up.

They will update free if you have receipts which I don't keep more than a year. Had the 24-70 2.8 done £40 i think, the bigma is OK and I gave up the flash as £40 is not far from its value now. Changed to a 7d from a 400d a while back.

That's where I'd seen them before, B&H.

We got the Peleng 8mm f3.5 Circular Fisheye Lens - focusses closer, was cheaper and equal IQ - and doesn't 'letterbox' like the Samyang. Have made great use of it - and never missed AF (it's M42 construction - like a few lenses I have)
Whatever and ever. Amen

I have started experimenting with m42, bought a set of bellows and a Helios 50mm lens. Tried comparing the lens with my canon 50mm and although I was happy with quality really missed the af.
