I took one on Monday, not intended for the competition, but it is eminently suitable. I think.
Just thinking how much pp I want to use, if any.
No danger here, no photo here, maybe the weekend will inspire.

How can a grumpy old duck kiss, when its lips are sealed? :o :legit:
Just uploaded my entry 'Poison Pods.'
It looks a bit pale here, so I may change it for the colour version.

Almost a hundred percent sure it is.
At the last minute, something made me doubt. A bit.
I`m determined to try and think harder for this one and get something mildly amusing. I`ve just been submitting images taken that I think might fit recently and boring myself. Now if only I had a brain and a bit of imagination. ???

There does not seem to be much room for brains, in that new head of yours Paul!

Yes - not taken me long on here to get an avatar picture eh ;). Thought it summed up my brain best :D
One eye of an Ostrich is bigger than its brain. :o
I didn`t have a picture of a one eyed ostrich that matched my brain though ;). What they lack in brain they make up for in speed though. We were told they can maintain 45mph for half an hour. Trouble is they are so stupid they can run in circles though so still fail to elude any hunters. You pay a lot of money for an ostrich leather handbag though. Luckily even my wife thought they were too expensive to buy.
Hi all, back today from 4 weeks holiday (terrible weather, holiday snaps only me thinks...)
I've no ideas for this theme, might have to go back and have another look at the criteria. But I think I might have 10 loads of washing and 12 hours of sleep before I can think about getting the camera out again.

Welcome back!
I'd think, ten loads of dirty washing characterisitc of a long holiday!
Well I`m in with my racist / stereotypical entry.
Yorkshire Tea for Yorkshire Folk

that's a classic, pretty scungy reusing the tea bags.
A good Yorkshireman would probably get 3 cups out of one, one cup bag I reckon ;)

Is that on account of taste or the strength in the Tea Paul ? :2funny:
Purely financial savings Andy ;)
Then, when used up 3 times, tear open and sprinkle tea on plant pots...great nutrients.....
So the Mackems are the same as Yorkshire folk then ;). Mind you I knew Mackems were tight- they cannot share points with anyone in the Premier league just now :D

Not been entering for a while but trying to get back in the swing, here is a shot taken on my mobile phone.
(http://cameracraniums.com/gallery/albums/userpics/10256/normal_Autumn.jpg) (http://cameracraniums.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pid=14490&fullsize=1)
The reason for the mobile phone shot is that my proper camera is in dock, I went out last Sunday to get a shot for the weekly comp (down my way), I put the camera on the tripod and suddenly the tripod became a monopod and over went the tripod and camera. This resulted in the viewfinder and flip out screen not working (damn electrical viewfinders), so yesterday took the camera off to Harrison's in Sheffield for them to send it away to be fixed, it sounds like it will be two to three weeks before I get it back. I think this has made me realise that I should have at least a point and shoot back up and not just the phone....................
Anyhoo these things happen and it was my own fault for not checking the tripod was stable
That`s a shame Michael - hope your camera recovers well and not too expensively. Great camera phone shot though that shames my phone efforts.
My D700 rubbers are coming off apace now - got one set of replacements to put on and another to order - bloody eco glue!!!!
Sorry to hear about the camera Michael - hope it's back quickly.
As it was "characteristics" this is my mates Rottweiler called Mouse, now you know what a Rottweiler looks like just before it lunges at you.

Mike, sorry about your camera. Hope it won't be too expensive.
Jeff, I know a Rottweiler who is ever so sweet.
have my image taken just gonna struggle to do the PP and post it. I have a job interview tomorrow and need to shop AM for an outfit and for a suit for hubby as we have a wedding on Friday. Im at wok till 8 pm, so unless I give up the gym after work I may not get it done.
Decided to enter a dead flower head, a complete cliche, which I hope fits the bill, since there is always some puzzlement how to follow the brief! :-\

They can't even keep any for themselves....
I found a few minutes to get an entry done. I was going to go for Mansard roofs, but didn't get a decent go at that what with it being a bit dull on the day that I went past them. Spotted this epigram on the back doors of a 2CV van at the car club meeting: 'Ceci n'est pas une voiture*, c'est un art de vivre'. I thought that was characteristically French :) given the obsession with the venerable 2CV.

Mine was called Characteristics Of Autumn, but was beaten to the name, so I'm 'Seasonally Characteristic'
