As if the Queen was turning up at my gaff tomorrow - You have got two minutes to sweep the kitchen floor and a second to polish your bald patch  :2funny:  :2funny:

Oh dear. Difficult. I am becoming more and more selfconscious taking candid shots! Did one last Saturday that wasn't too bad, but sadly a day early.
I'll see if I have the guts.

Joking aside, I may miss this one out. The point being that street candid shots are not very feasible over here due to privacy laws unless you have a press card; although if an opportunity arises out of the blue I may enter (with a duly signed model release of course).

A 'shot of someone else,' can be a candid shot of your wife or kids? Or does that not count as candid?

Just wondering.

Candid, I guess implies a shot where the subject is not consciously aware that the shot is being taken. My dog always has a crooked ear (as she stood her ground as a pup) and catching her licking her nose made me smile. The 'shot of someone else', does suggest a person and my entry may not therefore be wholly on topic; that said she has heaps of personality and is rarely seen in such a comical role.

Sarasocke

To make a change I was actually spoilt for choice here. Up to last Tuesday it was Fasching, or carneval, here in Germany. Eveyone (almost everyone  ::) ) dresses up and acts silly.
The procession through our small town was last Tuesday and no-one was bothered about seeing me wandering around with the camera.

I decided on this one, a spectator with a jazzy wig who's apparently a Frankfurt Eintracht (football) fan judging from the scarf.

I was lucky too, as I went into town with another photographer who is a keen 'street life' snapper. In his company, I feel less inhibited and I did take some shots. The one I enter, is a shot of a photographer taking a picture of a tourist filming a lone piper.

I know, but I had to spend some time in the garden which ended up being most of the weekend  :)
