I was reading an on line article about internet privacy and Google. One of the commentators challenged people to Google their own name and see what was out there. So I did and found this:

Any one you know?  ;D

I see you live in Brampton. I used to drive trains there - and Princess Margaret used to visit once or twice a year...

As for Googling my name, i am Gordon Browns brother, a top journalist, an author,a dentist, a computer geek, a landscape photographer in Australia - even on FLickr i'm usurped by an Andrew Brown from South Africa.

So in simple terms - according to Google im a nobody  :'(

And so you should be. If you've produced images good enough to scale up to A3 and get permission to get them hung on the wall at home...

Well done that chap
Thanks a lot Andrew  :)

Signed up to attend a seminar by Tom Ang at the end of Jan with my camera group. Has anyone attended any function held by (for) him? Was it (he) any good? Any particular question you want me to ask? ;D

I'm really on top of the world today. My new (well second hand  ;) ) camera arrived.
I decided instead of a new 300s I would go for a used D700. Only a year old, and the chappie was selling a Tamron 2.8 28-75mm as well! And two Extreme IV cards.
Christmas is here !

I'm already loving it :)

The poor chap who sold it has had to give up his job due to illness and needed the cash. I feel really sorry for him.

The only problem I've found so far, is that neither my PSE6 nor CS3 will accept the nefs. Problably a plug-in somehwere is needed. Still I have NX2 on the way, so that problem will be solved forthwith. Until then, I'll be taking jpegs.

just been back and noted that other D700 users have upgraded to CS4.
Don't know if PSP XS2 can work with the D700 as PSP is usually a bit slow on that front. I think all Adobe stuff can...

You can always use Adobe's free DNG converter that has also just been released.

   Hi Carol.
I open D700 raws in CS3. I think you just need to update your raw converter.
I think Camera Raw 4.6 is the most recent CS3 update which suports the D700.
