I still don't own an ipad! No smartphone either, and I remember the day we got colour tv!

I admit to being a bit of a tech geek.
Have an iPad and a smart phone. And I've not used teletext for years.

You can't use teletext any more can you? I thought it had been switched off.

We didn't have iPads, but we did have cider. 

I don't have an iPad, never will. I look at them front time to time, cheapest one here is just over €500, and then I look at my €100 cheaper 15" laptop with 500gb hardrive, proper complex software like Lightroom and Cubase, proper keyboard with number pad, 4 USB ports, HDMI, Firewire, DVD drive, 4 hour battery life, 64 bit OS etc etc. The I look back at the iPad and think why would anyone pay so much for so little?

Not too sure about teletext these days to be honest.

And I can see where you are coming from re the the iPad. I looked at them but decided against it, but my wife bought me one for Christmas. And I must admit I love it. It'll never compete with a proper PC or laptop, but they're great for convenience, web browsing and (if you're sad like me) playing games and also reading.

I tend to use mine more than the laptop now, unless I need to do something more 'advanced.'
And all my editing is done on the laptop.

Yes it is, and quite frankly a rubbish camera. I never use the camera.

I have a Sony eReader for reading and non colour web browsing, but mostly for reading. If I get an uncontrollable urge to get on the web when I'm out and about I use the smart phone. But mainly I use the phone as an MP3 player. Got a 32gb card in it with most of my music collection on and the Xperia is a very good MP3 player as it goes.

We do have a cheap Android tablet, but that is rarely used because of the lack of real keyboard and the fact that you have to hold it one hand, instantly making you one handed. My 12 year old daughter always uses the laptop in preference because of the bigger screen and the fact that she can, well, just rest it on her lap with the screen at the angle she wants it. She mostly watches YouTube videos on it. Preferably cute cats.

I see in the local supermarket that Polaroid have beaten Apple to the large tablet market - they have an Android one with a 13.3" screen for I think it was €270. Now that will definitely be too big to handle comfortably with one hand - lucky then that the box said 'includes stand'

Think that the iPad has it's place, as said it is no Computor but it is very convenient.

iPhone 5, great camera and I use it a lot.

Desk top Computor totally crap and needs replacing, thinking of a Mac book pro but it's the £'s that put me off.

If I get a laptop it will be running windows 8 which TBH is not the best.

Decisions decisions.

I'm in a bit of a quandry with this, I can't really remember a lot of those things listed in the ditty. I was too busy earning a living. I can remember that brick like mobile phone, I used to have one! Not mine I might add, but one supplied by the company, 'So you can keep in touch' I was told. It entailed a huge recharging gubbins that took up most of the space between driver and passenger, and when you used it outside the battery ran down almost in an instance. That's when you could find an area when it functioned.

I'm a complete technophobe, but I do have a small tablet thing that allows us to Skyte my grandson in Canada occasionally, and I've found it very handy for keeping up with the football scores when my wife is watching some programme or other on a Saturday afternoon, not too much else though.

On the tube the other day all, and I mean all the passengers opposite were engaged with their new fangled gizmos. The people either side were playing games so I expect those opposite were doing the same.

All these inventions of the Devil that have destroyed good things like conversation, and pastimes that require thought and imagination. Bah! Humbug!
