only 1 really stands out, and that is because it 'supports the story' - the rest really didn't do it for me, because I had to have the supporting text to explain the narrative.

My 1 acceptabke choice was the typhoon survivors - the devistation is clearly viewable in the picture.

1 body, 1 lens, 1 flash gun, 1 tripod, 1 cable release & 1 filter. Keeping it simple!
(I lied, just got a second lens!)

I must admit I keep going back to blind Albino boys.
Powerful image yet a bit scary in a way I can not explain.
Perhaps scary is the wrong word ? Its just the expressions tell me we are not seeing the full story.

Whilst they are all 'news photographs' I just looked at them all as photographs, it didn't bother me if they were of refugees, action or just situation shots.

The one that stands out for me is the carousing Burmese soldiers at the funeral The lighting is fantastic and as soon as I saw it Carravagio leapt to mind.

And there you have one of those peersonal preferences that demonstrates the beauty of any art form.

For me, news/ journalistic photography is about demonstrating or support the story.
I suppose that is a sign of how I can/ do compartmentalise a subject by its purpose...
