Perfect choice Jinky.
Our shortages are just biting. Mrs H has been to 5 supermarkets this morning and can't get any bread. It's only going to get worse.
Albert Camus: "The welfare of humanity is always the alibi of tyrants."
My wife and youngest daughter went to 4 supermarkets and found huge queues at all of them. As the messaged me I found a sudden slot available for an ASDA online delivery and so told them to come come and we`d do that. Had it dropped off to our porch this morning. having unpacked it we found 5/5 different items with a use by date of tomorrow that we`d bought for the weekend. One of the packs , carrots, were black inside and inedible. Bought a mixed bag of 3 peppers and because I wanted to do a couple of stuffed peppers one night ordered the better red long ones. Not available so they sent me - another bag of mixed peppers with both bags best before tomorrow. With a few unsuitable substitutions my annoyed feedback led to a refund request for over £7. Never will I do an online order again - even if they had any available slots. Meanwhile my wife had to go out again with daughter to buy the items we needed for the weekend at M&S!!! Still - they`ve got it worse in India. Migrant workers self isolating up trees with nowhere to go and food shortages.
We have been quite lucky. My wife seems to enjoy shopping and has been fortunate with minimal queues. My mum lives just down the road and has orders delivered regularly and kindly gets us bits too.
We have quite a well stocked village shop and that's great for milk, bread and eggs.
Sorry for people who are struggling, its not a good situation at all and Jinky, sounds like Asda have really let you down.
But a good dose of perspective at the end of your comment.
