I've done four flower shots and a landscape on canvas. Flower shots sold the landscape didn't. I think the one flower shot did sell because it was too small, same for the landscape. The fourth flower shot ended up tearing a bit and exposing the staples while in transit to the art show I was attending. I get my canvas from my local photography supplier and the stretchers from my local art supply store. My Epson prints 13 x19 inch so I like to do 12 x 18 inch stretchers.
The issue is - do you want to mount them yourself or get them completely done and ready to put on the shelf to sell.
They are not cheap and when being asked, enquire as to what they are prepared to pay and have a sample price list to show them and work on a special order basis taking a deposit and details.
If they default on final payment you have a deposit and can then put it for sale on your stall or sites at a reduced price or the quoted price.
You've got the link from Jonathan for getting prints, i notice they also do canvas there as well.
I've got some pictures i would like to put on canvas, and even had one or two requests to supply them on canvas - but as always it's the price that brings proceedings to a halt.
Andy's correct, I had one done professionally and it cost me around $70 Cdn and I managed to get $95 for it. That's why I did the others myself. Don't remember exactly what my outlay was, but it wasn't close to $70

Unfortunately my canvas supplier only deals with a limited number of pros. But Photo Artistry are very good.
I had one done by photobox. 85x55cm cost me 95 notes.
Was very impressed with it and its still on my front room wall.
Nice and chunky 2.5 inchframing as well
Some months later I ordered another copy from the same file they had on their records. When it was delivered the tones and shades of the second print were different to the first.
The shot concerned is a B+W sea scape

The second canvas was for my son and he was still pleased with the result though.
Everyone who visits us always comments on the print but as soon as I mention how much I paid they seem to loose interest.
I guess if I was to sell I would need to add at least 50%,

Not really. There's a popular pricing guide on the interweb that makes a case that you cannot make money out of selling photo products unless you triple cost prices. Basically works out as 1/3 costs, 1/3 tax etc, 1/3 "profit" though it's a lot more complicated than that.
Not to pick holes but if you buy a product at $70 and sell at $95 then you are really just about covering costs. For example if you sell 4 and one is incorrect/faulty/damaged you will spend all of your "profit" getting it remade.
Plus I have the yacht and villa to pay for.
Do the mounting yourself on stretchers and you will find these guys cheap.

Quality and colour calibration are unknown, but at these prices it is worth giving them a shot.

I have narrowed the search down to two which are Photo Artistry ( Johnathans suggestion ) & Ultra Print. I now have two orders for 40" x 30" canvas prints with a 2" frame depth.
( Telephones Landscape ) & ( Derwentwater Jetty Portrait ).
Photo Artistry quoted £ 111.55 each including VAT & Delivery
Ultra Print quoted £ 73.59 each including VAT & Delivery ( this price includes a 20% promotional discount ) they also offer a trade discount.
So on this occassion I will opt for Ultra Print. If the quality is ok I will order another two or three to display in the local galleries & market and take it from there...... :legit:
Hope it works out Dave - then maybe you can get a yacht and villa next to Jonathan's :2funny: and share a wind down drink in the evenings :beer:

Jonathan, I'm not putting myself down, but I'm not in your league by a long shot. It was a strictly amateur show and I was quite please I sold something. Besides I have a day job. ;D

For the people who want to have some canvasses printed and are more concerned about the price rather than the quality, I can recommend this shop.
Very cheap and reasonable quality. (Can't guaruantee longevity and colour correctness, but at that price.....) I am happy with it.
