Um, great!  Mine's broken.

In other news....the weather sealing on the D3 ain't as good as on the D2X :(  Not got the D3S seriously wet yet.

Quite agree, as the D200 never steamed up even in a downpour.

I used mine on Friday for Bonfire night at West Bromwich and it got completely soaked along with the D3, as it didn't stop raining all evening. The camera steamed up on the LCD screen and on the top control panel but the lens was fine.

It's always my glasses that steam up first  :(

Having a nightmare connecting to the internet any ideas on this one (Virgin Helpline = USELESS) Hence I haven't been on here for ages.....

My wife and I share the computer when I try to connect to the internet on my username Internet Explorer just hangs and does nothing at all, have tried rebooting to no avail, can get online using mozilla but don't like the interface at all.
Click on my wifes name and go in on her account and it connects via I.E. no problem at all. I am at a loss I can't see any difference in the settings at all
We're using PC windows XP (updated SPs) Virgin Media Broadband (allegedly 10mb) through cable.....any troubleshooters out there that can help as it's driving me up the wall.....

Maybe one of your user profiles is corrupted.  ???

Just make sure you read the Note regarding your emails.  ;)

Failing that, just add a new profile, and see if that works.

My 24-70 is broken again.

3 months ago it was soft focussing (soft for a 24-70) so it went to Nikon.  £275 later it was spot on.

A week or two ago I noticed I was getting odd results on studio flash.  Random frames were either under or over exposed.  I just did a long boring test which "proved" my D3S was faulty - different exposures on odd frames on the D3S, everything pretty good on the D3.

Before I sent the camera in I rang Nikon.  30 mins on the phone to the techs and they found out the aperture blades are sticking on the lens.  It's just a coincidence it shows on one camera (swapping lens over moves them - this also explains why it's worse for the first several frames but settles down after an hour).

Of course the camera's under warranty and the lens isn't......

Uh-oh.

Courier picked it up on Thursday for overnight.  I was working Friday and busy all w/e so I rang today to see how it is.

Lens never arrived.

Courier claims they delivered it to Windsor on Friday.  Nikon aren't in Windsor and the signature on the paperwork doesn't belong to any of their staff.

Either there's a mistake and it's lost or somebody has nicked it.  Ooops.

new lens on couriers expense then!

Not good because it will mean no end of paperwork etc and having to get another lens out of your own pocket until they cough up...

um, no.  They wouldn't cover £1,200 on their insurance.  I'll be having a chat with my insurers about whether I'm covered or not.

Phew.

Let's just say that Nikon have some staff in their post room who need a little more training.  And that UPS's documentation leaves something to be desired.

It's turned up :D

  Mind you, sounds like you've got a bit of a duffer! See if you can get them to replace it for your trouble.

My Bosch fridge door handle has broken, well within the 2 year warranty. Customer service tell me plastic parts are not covered (how much of it is not made of plastic?) & I will have to pay for an engineer to fix it or they can send the part to fix it myself.  >:( >:(

makes you wonder what sort of cover we're paying for or provided with nowadays listening to these tales.
For me - if a courier agrees to carry your goods - they must be accepting responsibility for replacement if it is lost.
As for goods being made of plastic not being covered by a warranty - i wonder what actually is left that is covered given how prevailant plastic is (in one form or another) in most items.
