hmm, so Alf, you can move from public albums to your albums ok?  but not the reverse.  I have to admit I've never tried that, and just assumed if it worked one way then it would work vice versa.  :-[

I'll have to sign in with a test account and try it.  Worst scenario is I can move it for you on request. (I think)  :legit:

Alf, just logged in on a test account, and moved that flower shot from Flower's and fauna album, to my test album, and back again.  My test account has the same permissions as a regular member.  Seems to work ok for me.  ???

I will try again

OK
I can move the shot from my gallery to a public gallery, but thats it, it moves it, it does not copy it over leaving a version in my gallery

2nd edit
Im now guessing I read the tute wrong and you cant actually "copy" over just move ?

Alf, it's working as it should then.  It's a file move function, not a file copy function.  ;)  We could make work that way for you using key words.  I'd have to set up a keyword to each of the public albums first.  After that anything in any of the user albums containing that keyword will also display in the public albums, even if it's not actually in there.

Thats sounds good Mick, would keep the database size down from not needing to upload an image multiple times for different galleries and would be great for the public galleries for users to browse.

OK, as a trial here's the keywords now added to the public albums.   You can have as many keywords as you wish for each pic, but it must contain one of the keywords below if you want it to display in the public albums.  If you feel the image fits more than one album, then just add another keyword from the list.

Note: Please seperate your keywords with a space to make them work

Pulic album keyword list.

  • Macro / Close-up      keyword = macro
  • Black & White           keyword = black&white
  • Landscapes              keyword = landscape
  • Architecture             keyword = architecture
  • Travel                     keyword = travel
  • People                     keyword = people
  • Flowers & Fauna        keyword = fauna
  • Animals & Wildlife       keyword = animal

Have I understood correctly ? If I have a photo in one of my own galleries and give it one of the keywords above, it will also show up in the appropriate gallery ?

I tried putting the keyword "animal" to this photo of Polly, but it didn't show up in the animals and wildlife gallery. Am I being blond yet again?

It's on page one for me.

On the top the album you are viewing on the right hand side you should see some settings

Title +-  File name +- Date +- Position +-

Click the minus sign on the date one to set to Date descending.

Paul Montgomery

Hi Mick,
The tutorial you posted earlier is just a blank screen now. I've managed to post a picture to one of the albums, but I actually wanted in my own gallery. (Don't mind if it stays in the album though). I couldn't figure out how to post to my gallery. (Yes, I am willing to accept its probably me being stupid...)

Cheers

Paul

Hi Paul, first you'll have to create a gallery (or put some albums in it)  Go to gallery, and click "My Gallery" you'll then be able to add albums.

Once you have albums, you'll be able to move the image from the public album to your album by clicking on the thumbnail image, and using the edit file information button below the intermediate pic.   Just choose the album from the drop down, (your albums will have a * next to them.  And save.

Sounds long winded but it isn't really.  I'll find out why that tut's not working.   ;)

Edit:  Try this link and see if the tut works http://cameracraniums.com/forum/tp-images/sitetuts/moveimage/move_tutorial.htm
