Image of the week can be chosen from any image in the gallery. Only exception is it must not have been chosen previously for IOTW. It's then displayed for a week. ;)

Good point Craig. There's a link below the image of the week that should take you to all the previous images of the week.

Unfortunately there's no easy way to know, other than trawling through them. That said, each image that is in that category should have a keyword added "cciotww" So if you don't see this when choosing your image it
should be ok. ;)
