Big Horse7 viewsThe horse statue, near Marble Arch, taken with an infra red filter fitted (long exposure required). I took the shot from across the street on Oxford Circus - even though this was taken around 6am on a Saturday morning, the traffic was so busy that the biggest gap I got was around 30s - hence the slight graininess as I had to set the ISO right up to 1600 to accomodate the restricted shutter speedroguesgallery

Film v Digital34 viewsOne of my big issues was the ability of Digital Cameras to handle low light as well as film cameras. I was running some 1600 asa (iso) film through the Canon A1 when i become the lucky owner of a 5D MkII - so i thought - let's do a noise comparison test. Both shots at London Victoria at almost the same time, using same iso and a 50mm lens - and both hand held. These are "straight out of the camera" as it were.
Shall we just say that i as surprised with the results and have now given up film completely.picsfor

Fighting the fire11 viewsLast night we had 2 wild fires raging in the valley below us. This is the crop of one of the pictures that I took with a farmer trying to save one of his outbuildings. Pretty impressed with the iso 1600 on the 40D.Colin
