Still in Winchester at the moment, but going home tomorrow, I thought I'd better make up my mind which one to enter, and decided on this one. Still haven't properly looked at all of them, let alone edited them.

I am in with: The Funeral Director.

With a busy weekend coming up I thought I'd best get in early.  Some Bluebells taken in the garden before the wind and rain arrived  :(

Really anything goes - people, buildings , animals - just something great in mono.

I've got all three in several shots. My dilemma, for a change, is which one to choose.

Here's one of the many shots, I was able to make.

I was once lucky enough to find an enormous horsebox/trailer in our road, from which two beautiful Friesian horses, and a hearse emerged.
They were 'made ready' for a funeral. The groom was vey obliging and proud of his horses. I took many photographs, mainly of the horses, as I somehow couldn't get the hearse properly in focus. Our road isn't that obliging, with traffic driving past etc.

Yesterday though I had a whale of a time, with plenty of space to move around and a glorious background. Took so many shots, it'll take me a month of Sundays to decide which one could be the best. So far I've only edited two, as I'm on holiday and haven't got that much 'laptop time.' I'll upload one, so you can see what I mean. I'll do the colour version, but I have also converted them, as possible entry.

I've seen wonderfully spectacular funerals locally - horse drawn glass hearses leading a procession from church to cemetary and so on, and never dared take photos for fear of upsetting someone. I guess that's how most of us feel. But why not? - TV often broadcasts such things these days. (The procession is a dying historical tradition if you'll pardon the pun, and I think it should be recorded for posterity.)

A hearse eh! Should be plenty of black in frame to fit that element of the brief  :D. Glad you didn`t have to gatecrash a funeral. I saw a woman advertising funeral coverage as a photographer. Have always thought it is a gap in the market - one of those occasions where you get lots of people together not normally seen in the same space . My patter getting people to smile and act daft might not fit though  ;)
