Weekly Comp:15/07 - 23/07/17 - CHAT THREAD – BIRDS

The topic for this week is BIRDS
First thing I saw when I opened my blind was a magpie scaring the the wood pigeons off the food we put out last night. So this weeks theme is birds - of the feathered variety before someone asks. The ones that fly or even don`t if you come across an ostrich or such, the ones that crap on my head (twice in one day at Whitby on Thursday!!!!) - you know what I`m saying. Something I rarely shoot so learning for me.
No restrictions  on editing. Pictures to be taken preferably between now and Sunday 23rd July 2017, 23:59, OR  please enter something from your personal archives.

Pictures to be posted in the entries thread no later than 23:59pm Monday  24th July 2017.

Poll will be up Tuesday 25th July 2017 .

Winner to be announced Saturday 29th July 2017

The Rules for the weekly competition are...

By entering you agree to take responsibility to

Post a topic on the Sunday (or sooner) following your declared win

Create an entries thread

Create a chat thread

Create a poll for that weeks comp and declare the winner on the Saturday

(if for any reason there is a problem and no subject is posted by the winner by Monday night admin will advise second place winner to post the topic asap, do the poll etc)

In case of a tie, the first entry posted wins.

Plenty of bird photographers on CC, so you should get a good number of entries!

With my poor eyesight, birds are almost impossible to catch, as they always move, before I adjust the camera. Sitting ducks are more or less the only ones, I can target and shoot.

Seagulls! I wish I'd shot a few last week in Penzance (with a 12 bore). All night they kept screaming at my hotel bedroom window. And they're almost as bad by day.

Busy week so I am in very early as I don`t think i`ll get out with a camera for birds. Shot this one a couple of days ago when on a gypsy caravan break in North Shire - a campsite with a Hobbit theme. Great fun. The animals there were so friendly and I made an immediate impression on the peacock who strutted his stuff for me.

If you want to see more of my pictures from there check out my blog at:

Looks like quite a nice little trip apart from the dodgy angled train rides!

Realised that on Tuesday i`ll have no internet access and will be unable to post the Birds poll.

Anyone with time on Tuesday can you please oblige? H`s internet is still falkey so might not be able to rely on him to do his usual step in so anyone available please do so.

Thanks
I`m off to Belfast and the Causeway Coastal Drive for the week so see you later

I'll give it a go, although I am out in the morning - daughter is off to Cheltenham to stay with her friend, so needs depositing at the airport.

Sorry, nothing from me this week. Like the entries so far. Good luck to all.
May the Force be with you.
