So much building going on in Leeds it will be hard to find some urban decay just now!  ;)

Been out this evening having a play, and going down the HDR route with this one.

These are a bit overdone, but I quite like it with the decay feel.

I've got a picture to post later today. It's not exactly world shattering. I mounted an expedition on Saturday to find some decent urban decay. I started with the old explosives factory site, which the last time I looked had a large number of derelict buildings on site and visible from the road: they've all been refurbished, and probably repurposed too. So I went to an old retail area, just out of town where there were some boarded up shops. Even the road had gone - seriously, there is a new road, a bridge over the railway line replacing an old crossing, and lots of brand new industrial and warehouse units - the place looks like it's prospering. But I did find a a boarded up eatery down a backstreet in town, which is the subject of my entry, when I have decided on the best way to present it.

I has exactly the same problem in Leeds H so have posted an old shot that is still visible. seems like all the old derelict haunts are scaffolded up for work or boarded off with smart grafitti work adorning them that make them look quite good. Saw an old building in a park that had been rendered inaccessible through health and safety protection so no shot there. This sign maybe says a lot about the state of independent butchers today. Mind you I might be biased but I never found the meat that good at this place either ... though that might have been the foul taste he left in my mouth after trying to block any regeneration initiative I tried to get support for in the Armley area in Leeds when working.

I missed this one somehow - and I've got a recent image I could have used I think too. :(

This is right up my (decayed) street, and I have countless images on file. No fresh ones though.

I am, at the moment, trying to force myself to get out with the camera again, but I find it hard to get going. Not ready to enter the competition yet.

However, one of the shots I took yesterday, of the Boating Lake on our local Common, I have just uploaded. I did enjoy the editing, so maybe there is hope still.
